From the twisted mind of writer-director Kenneth J. Hall (PUPPET MASTER) comes the tongue-in-cheek, genre-bending exploitation film THE HALFWAY HOUSE. Larissa Morgan (Tracy Keijser) is investigating the disappearance of her sister from a house for troubled girls, and goes undercover to learn more. But what she discovers is that the halfway house is more like a house of horrors, populated by a priest with a taste for corporal punishment, a nun who worships something other than the Christian God, a murderous janitor, and a group of lipstick lesbians. None of that, however, is preparation for her discovery of what lurks in the basement. Cheap and unabashedly hokey, The Halfway House is a total hoot and a welcome change from the rest of the straight-to-video junk.
