In this animated film, explorer Ted journeys to Africa hoping to recover an important artifact for his friend Bloomsberry, a museum director. Instead, however, he discovers an irrepressible little primate named George, who stows away on the ship back to New York City. There, Ted tries to stop plans to demolish the museum, but he has his hands full taking care of his new simian friend, whose curiosity may turn out to be more beneficial than anyone had imagined.

Throw in an impressive vocal cast, including Van Dyke, Ferrell, Drew Barrymore and Joan Plowright and a terrific batch of toe-tapping Jack Johnson tunes -- and, even more than 15 years on, George is a movie with great school holiday appeal.

*Curious George* is a charming and heartfelt children’s film that captures the spirit of the classic books while adding its own gentle storytelling. The animation is bright and inviting, perfectly suited for younger audiences, and the tone stays warm and wholesome throughout. What really works is how the film balances simple humor with a meaningful message about curiosity, kindness, and finding where you belong. George is an endearing character whose playful nature never feels annoying, and his bond with the Man in the Yellow Hat gives the story an emotional core. Overall, its a 7/10, The pacing is relaxed, which might not appeal to everyone, but it fits the film’s comforting style. It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s sincere, enjoyable, and great for families.
