I could feel the sexual tension between Leonidas and Ephialites when they had their conversation. I wish they had a little less action and a little more "action" if you know what I mean. The action choreography is striking, amplified by Snyder’s use of slow-motion editing, which becomes the film's defining stylistic signature. Snyder and Kurt Johnstad adapt the source material effectively, preserving its mythic tone. Tyler Bates’ score adds power, while the set pieces and costumes convincingly capture the film’s stylised historical setting.
