2010 now and this is a 1984 production. Why then, as sort of a movie buff, do I find myself coming back over and over to see this again? I'll tell you.
I like to be entertained. I don't care if the plot or the scenes stretch my imagination. The dialogue has to be witty and clever. The characters have to appear to play their roles seriously even when it's all a sketch. I can laugh out loud over and over in the kitchen scene and the moving table scene in the restaurant and the endless surprise reactions by Tom Conti as Rebecca Ryan races through this balmy, comical, bizarre mystery. Everyone is wonderful. Each time at the credits, I find myself with another wide smile.
Not learning anything, just enjoying movie life. 2010 and I still love it.
