What to Know

Critics Consensus

A startlingly inept film, Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever offers overblown, wall-to-wall action without a hint of wit, coherence, style, or originality.

I'm having a hard time believing the words as I type them but ... it's not that bad. Go to Full Review

For many viewers, the big question may be not whether Ecks and Sever will get together, or why they are fighting in the first place, but why am I sitting here, anyway? Go to Full Review

An action film starring Antonio Banderas and Lucy Liu, Ballistic: Ecks Vs. Sever looks like a video-game promo, has a story that plays like the fifth episode of a struggling syndicated action show, and feels like a headache waiting to happen. Go to Full Review

I guess not every bad movie has a cult following in its future. Some of them are just kinda bad. Go to Full Review

If you must see Ecks vs. Sever, just go bang your head against the wall for an hour and a half. It would be the same effect. Go to Full Review

Kaos is so in love with pyrotechnics -- and so arrogant in his assumptions about his audience -- that in the first few minutes, he presents one critical car explosion without explanation, then has his characters discuss another one. Go to Full Review

Slinkie T @RT34738069 4d A great cast and overambitious pyro team can't save you from a bad storyline. This movie is a pile of parts that don't make anything that functions. - Great Pyro - Loads of stunts - Loads of fight scenes - Some good visuals This formula does get pretty old pretty soon because the characters don't have any chemistry. The story is so poor though, it really is the weakest link because it infects everything else. Some of the performances (notably Lucy Liu) feel a bit flat. Most of these actors you will have seen in better things, so I suspect the performances might be the way they are because of the direction they have been given. The production was a bit troubled so it is a shame that no one was able to make a better movies with these ingredients. See more Oli W @RT45004301 Apr 15 I can't rate this low enough. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I watched this at the cinema when it came out but had no choice but to walk out part way through. Everything, from the action, the script, the plot, the acting, the sets, music.... is diabolical. See more Jorge A @RT50429328 Apr 10 Easily one of the worst movies of all time. The acting, the action, the story is all awful, clearly nobody cared. The only minor positive I can give it is one or two decently choreograph hand to hand combat, which was the only things that kept me from shutting it off. Still, there are way better action movies out there. Unless you want to see a truly incompetent film, don't waste your time with it. See more Read all reviews
