Lt. Alex Hopper (Taylor Kitsch) is a weapons officer aboard the destroyer USS John Paul Jones, while his older brother, Stone (Alexander Skarsgård), is the commanding officer of the USS Sampson. Unknown to Alex, Stone or the rest of the U.S. Navy, alien invaders have arrived on Earth with plans to steal Earth's resources. When a confrontation with the invaders knocks out the Navy's radar capability, American and Japanese forces must work together to find a way to save the planet.

Riggins and Landry in the Navy, Peter Berg Does Michael Bay, Transformers-esque, Not Really Battleship; any of those titles are just as fitting if not more so than Battleship.

Some people will tell you that Battleship is a bad film. And they will be right. But it is still a better film than a lot of other action and effects-dominated movies out there. Especially ones based on toy franchises.

DNF: that is very rare for me but it was so bad I couldn't even get through it. Action for Action sake and even that wasn't fun to watch. Absolutely no reason to watch, find something else.

All right, I’m writing a review. This movie is great. Maybe I’m used to the crap they come out with now because this actually has a plot. Maybe it has plot holes. I don’t know I don’t care. Look, we actually care about the characters. I don’t think the dialogue stupid at least compared to what I’m used to over the last 10 or so years. Even the reviews that liked it keeps saying it’s cheesy. I don’t think it’s cheesy. I think Rihanna did a great job, and I actually like the characters in the film and it really feels like military. And my God it’s got heart that’s missing in all the movies these days. I didn’t have any expectations, but I think it’s a damn good summer blockbuster.

Wife and I rarely don’t finish movies, but this POS disaster wasn’t worth the zero dollars it cost me to stream it! When they insert a skinny black female DEI giant forehead singer (Rihanna) into an action role, it’s over! The storyline sucked! Special effects sucks! Acting sucked! Everything sucked! Always had high hopes for anything Liam Neeson is in, but even he sucked! Pretty amazing how the screwup brother dude just gets up after being thrown 30’ into a steel wall by a giant armored alien! Give me a break! AWFUL IN EVERY WAY! No wonder I never heard of it!
