Paola Vanessa B @RT79748911 3d So a robot hired as a nanny-cleaner falls in love with the kid he is watching over but as the kid grows older his looks are still not human-like despite him developing feelings so the kid, now a woman, moves on and marries a guy. The years go by and now the robot has a human appearance thanks to the development of technology and as he goes to meet again the kid he used to nanny he finds a now grandma (the kid) with her nephew who looks just like her. So the robot starts dating the nephew who is also about to get married and this time he manages to conquer the woman and overcome her doubts on his original nature. Weird? It starts out with potential...... and gradually ends up chugging along ,neither funny or intriguing . Its one of those films you are happy that you never paid good money to go and see. Sci-fi being my favourite genre, means this is one of those timeless films that will probably remain an all time favourite of mine. Excellent cast and production team who, imo brought this gem to the screen and 27 years later just as SN character’s script line conveys .._still holds its own … weight… Andrew … holds its own weight… [didn’t think I’d be typing in what Sam Neill character aptly stated in the film haha] and just like the jokes scene … the timing [of the jokes RW spews out] probably needs a little work… RW so entertaining on screen See more Crazy G @kerck Feb 20 I watched the 1999 film "Bicentennial Man" in 2026, and here's what I have to say about it. What's the film about? The overall concept of the film is very interesting. Andrew, a robot, is born into the Martin family as an ordinary household appliance. But a spark of creativity and individuality awakens within him. Instead of resigning himself to his programmed role, he embarks on a 200-year journey to understand the nature of love, humor, mortality, and find freedom. In short, a robot tries to become human. Why is it worth watching? Heartfelt: This is a very warm and wise film. Emotional Evolution: Andrew's story spans centuries, and we see how the world around him changes and how he himself changes. His relationships with the Martin family, especially Amanda, are the heart of the film. Atmosphere: This isn't a dystopian future, but rather a cozy fairy tale about the future.
