Jamal (Martin Lawrence), an employee of the Medieval World amusement park, suffers a blow to the head and wakes up in 14th Century England. He encounters knaves, peasants, archers and a giant while showing the people some modern dance moves. Tapping into his good side, Jamal aligns with a peasant woman (Marsha Thomason) and a down and out ex-knight who are bound and determined to overthrow the evil King Leo (Kevin Conway) and his right-hand man Sir Knolte (Tom Wilkinson).

Not being a Martin Lawrence fan, I must confess that Black Knight had me rolling in the aisles. Lawrence went for the comic jugular and succeeded every time. ... Long live the boy from the 'hood who turned into Robin Hood!

As much as some people shit on this film it was an absolute joy to watch, maybe not if you think everything needs to be serious and be unforgettable. It's great for what it is, it may not be the best film made, hell probably not even top 1000 films made, but it sure as hell was a fun watch that I would recommend to the regular person.

As a kid growing up in the year 2000, "Black Knight" was one of those movies that I could watch repeatedly. My Lawrence brought his signature humor, and the fish-out-of-water story of a modern guy stuck in a time of many lives was captivating. While it may not be considered a cinematic masterpiece for its entertainment value, it’s a fun, family-friendly comedy with plenty of affordable moments that were released early in the year 2000. So, if you’re looking for a lighthearted throwback to the classic "Black Knight," this movie is definitely worth revisiting. By the end, you’ll likely remember the message to bring your passion to everything you do.
