A sexy, sleazy neo-noir erotic thriller that also serves as an engrossing love letter to Los Angeles, filmmaking and the film industry, cheap thrills, Hitchcock, and more. It doesn't all hang together perfectly—clunky plot, moments of melodrama, some garish violence, etc—but there's a lot that works too, in a way that both exemplifies and critiques 80's excess. There is a lot of nudity but it’s needed for the plot to work. Very reminiscent of an Alfred Hitchcock work.
