Jai and his wife Janaki (Tabu) are divorced, and due to some poor choices and bad luck, Jai has lost visitation rights with his daughter Bharthi (Baby Sana). Desperate to spend time with his child, Jai dresses up as a woman--Mrs. Lakshmi Godbole--and lands a job as Bharthi's nanny, happily spending time with her and ingratiating himself with his ex-wife. Things turn hilariously complicated, however, when Jai's father-in-law Durga Prasad (Amrish Puri) falls in love with Lakshmi. Manic cross-dressing hi-jinks, and Kamal Haasan's dynamic performance both behind and in front of the camera, propel this high-spirited comedy through to its crowd-pleasing finish. [More]
