...So I'll cut to the chase. It kept me entertained until the story began to twist and turn. It became inconsistent, uneven and a little confusing. Who's that guy again?....Oh. Just messy!

The torture scenes were a little much, the lovey dovey parts were just lame and repetative (LITERALLY, one scene on the beach appears to have been filmed twice), and Luke Goss is a little too pretty boy for this role (appearance-wise). I lost interest and fell asleep.

So that means I don't even know what happened at the end. I might ask my boyfriend who may have stayed up til the end.

Well.. if you've watched this movie or wanted to then you know its about the Brittish gangster Charlie Richardson. It explores through a court hearing two possible realities, one bad, and the other? Yes, good. The acting, in my opinion, is rather well for an ex-popstar. Everyone does a pretty decent job, except for the swapped wife who was Nelson Mandela's niece (I think).

All in all, in line with expectations. It's difficult to find a really good movie anymore; it seems as though I've seen most of the "modern classics."

Moderate to decent. Not as intriguing or involved as "Snatch" but paced better than "Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels." There's a number of other movies I'd recommend seeing before this one, however, if you stumble upon it in the vidstore I don't think you'll be mad you spent the rental fee. Keep in mind that it is painfully brutal in the violence; for the amount of brutal violence, I did expect a bit more gratuitious nudity. Perhaps I was just hoping.

This past weekend I finally received some movies from Netflex. How about that? Uh? One of the movies I received is called; "Charlie". I have been waiting for this movie to come to DVD ever since I heard of it. For some reason it takes some European movies a while to be released in the U.S. I don't know why either. All I have to say is that it was worth the wait for "Charlie". There are few things that the movie didn't explain. Such as who is this character and what is their relation to this character, is one of the very small issues I had with the movie but didn't ruin it for me. The lead actor Luke Goss is just plain hot. The cast which includes Luke Goss (of course, I just mentioned him) and Langley Kirkwood were some of the actors that brought this film to life. I'm not sure how accurate this film is to the autobiography about Charlie Richardson but I did like the action even though it was gruesome at times. This movie can be compared to "Good Fellows", "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels", and ?Scarface?. "Charlie" is based on true life crime boss Charlie Richard's life during the decade of the 1960's. It's about his account of his and his gang's life during the course of a trial for torture. I must warn you though it is a bit brutal. If you okay with it then you are in store for one hell of a ride. Again I did have some issues with this movie but I would suggest this film to adults (due to the torture scenes). The DVD doesn't have any bonus features. Please see what you think.

RATHER GRAPHIC VIOLENCE, SO AVOID THIS IF THAT IS SOMETHING THAT BOTHERS YOU. OTHERWISE IT'S A REASONABLY GOOD BIO ON THE FAMED ENGLISH CRIME LORD. SOME NICE SOUTH AFRICAN SCENES. BETTER THAN AVERAGE ACTING.
