Has plenty of inherent flaws, but in spite of it all, it's also a very creepy little ditty that works once it rears up to the second half...

Dead Silence is an homage to all the great quiet and creeping horror films that you couldn't walk out your front door without tripping over a few decades back.

While it is true that Dead Silence is nothing like Saw, it is also a fact that it's far from a failure. Indeed, if you take the movie on its own, unusual terms, it ends up being an effective and suspenseful spook show.

Although it's a mixed bag and doesn't say much for itself in the way of DVD extras, Dead Silence is still worth the price of purchase for fans of ghost stories that thankfully do not star black-haired little girls.

One whopping minute longer than the theatrical version hardly anyone saw, Dead Silence is still one of the worst horror films ever made.
