Desert Patrol (1938)
Bantam-weight B-Western star Bob Steele plays a ranger disguising himself as an outlaw in order to infiltrate a gang of killers in this average B-Western directed by the prolific Sam Newfield. Ranger Dave Austin (Steele) successfully infiltrates the killer's gang after his friend Tim Carson (Julian Madison) is killed by Apache Joe (Ted Adams). Accepted as an outlaw, he makes the acquaintance of Jean Drury (Marion Weldon), the innocent sister of gang member Dan Drury (Rex Lease). After Jean accidentally informs her brother of Dave's true identity, gang leader Martin Rand (Forrest Taylor) marks the ranger for death.
