Francisco, a pillar of bourgeois respectability, falls madly in love with a young woman he happens to spot in church one day. After a relentless courtship, he marries the beauty, but their life together is not the blissful paradise he had hoped for. What seemed to be love at first sight soon turns into a destructive, debilitating obsession. Francisco descends to incredible depths of paranoia, his thoughts dominated by fears that his lovely wife has been unfaithful to him. As this unbearable jealousy blossoms into insanity, Francisco's behavior becomes even more ludicrous and erratic. [More]
