Jack K @RT19468988 Jun 17 For the general Marvel movie viewer, this movie will probably not pack a satisfying enough punch on any level. This movie will always hit home for me though, because of how the filming techniques help fuel a realistic depiction of what it is like to cope with various symptoms of OCD; incredibly relatable and respectful to people who suffer from this mental health issue. Just by the way, the counting, the germophobia, all those "little things" you critics diminish about her behavior, that's just the compulsions. The dream-like states and nightmares she suffers from are what the real problem is. Yeah, real "mild" case, Ebert. People are sickening. What do you really know about OCD, you old fart? It's not the centerpiece of the movie, and most other elements may likely fall short for people, but to an extent, it made me feel understood about something that most people really don't have an accurate perception of in this world. Although it's buried in the reviews by all the misogynists, while I've noticed that these same people revere other terrible and boring superhero movies/animes as long as the men are the superheroes in those... But anyway, speaking about this particular movie, all I have to say is that I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes fantasy movies. And I'd love to see more movies like this one come out in the future! It tries to be a stylish superhero movie, but it fails on nearly every level. The story is incoherent, the dialogue is cringe-worthy, and the characters feel one-dimensional. Jennifer Garner does her best, but the weak script and over-the-top action sequences make it impossible to take seriously. The pacing drags, and the fight scenes feel repetitive rather than exciting. Overall, I’d give it a 1/10—it’s easily one of the worst superhero movies I’ve seen, completely forgettable and painfully executed. Too much is happening in here, I lost track of this a couple of times. And the side characters are nothing. I honestly don’t think Jennifer Garner is bad in here, but Elektra feels like an entirely different character than what she was in Daredevil.
