In a similar vein to Raging Bull, this is the story of a egotistical football stars journey from top dog to has been. Not bad, but all the sports movie cliches are still apparent, and Quaid is no Robert DeNiro.

Great movie with an excellent cast and a sadly tragic ending.

I RATHER LIKED THIS FILM. I THOUGHT DENNIS QUAID AND JESSICA LANGE WERE VERY WELL CAST AND GAVE GOOD PERFORMANCES. THE STORY IS GOOD AND INTERESTING. THERE ARE A FEW SLOW SEQUENCES BUT OVERALL IT FLOWS WELL.

:fresh: A moving film with fine acting. We follow Gavin and Babs from the highest highs to the lowest lows. Gavin is trapped behind his faded glory, just as Babs is trapped behind the Gavin's limelight, stuggling to keep their family together. Just a very well-done drama about sports celebrity.

Not your average football movie. But it is realized in too many average ways.
