Flags of Our Fathers is much the same as the classic films it proudly echoes - that war is hell, and though some are worth fighting, doing so exacts a huge human cost that cannot be glorified with the mere waving of Old Glory.

“Flags” and “Iwo Jima” were Mr. Eastwood at his most daring and creative. He made two movies at basically the same time about an historical event from different and previously unknown perspectives. This was an artist at his most insightful and audacious.

This is an absolutely amazing war story. We all have seen that iconic photograph of raising the flag at Iwo Jima so many times in our lives.but honestly I really didn't know the actual history behind it. This film finally gives you the full complete picture about that flagraising. the true story of those soldiers and the deep emotional pain they went through afterward. The most powerful part is seeing how the public and the media instantly treated them as massive heroes. while the government used the politics of that image to turn them into icons for war bonds. It captures that totally awkward and uncomfortable feeling the soldiers felt because they didn't see themselves as heroes at all they were just surviving. The whole core point of the story is plain and simple but the way it unfolds hits you so hard with great dialogues and incredibly stunning war sequences.

This movie's good if you enjoy war films. It was very entertaining to watch and probably one of the best war movies I've ever seen. Some bits were a bit cheesy but rest was good. You should really watch this movie.

Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom.
