Set in rural North Carolina, GOOD BABY begins as Raymond finds an abandoned baby while walking through the woods. He takes it home and quickly develops great affection for the child. However, when a vaguely menacing traveling salesman (Strathairn, in a superb performance) shows up looking for his lost child, Raymond is instantly protective of the child, and he begins to suspect that this salesman is even more sinister than he appears.
