Now, at the beginning of the 20th century, when the Old West is dying and newfangled technology like electric lights and automobiles is changing the world forever, Calloway begins to wonder if it's time to change his life as well. The action unfolds when he visits his brother's family on a homestead in a small West Texas town. When a banker wants to foreclose on their property, Calloway helps them fight to keep the farm. He also meets and falls in love with the local schoolteacher, played by Sissy Spacek. While his love for the schoolteacher makes him consider settling down, a visit from a rambunctious and irreverent old friend pulls him towards the life he's left behind. [More]
