Stephanie Zinone (Michelle Pfeiffer) is the leader of Rydell High School's Pink Ladies, a gang of girls who are counterparts of the school's group of greasers called the T-Birds. Stephanie is tired of her relationship with top T-Bird Johnny Nogerelli (Adrian Zmed), so she breaks up with him and quickly catches the eye of English exchange student Michael Carrington (Maxwell Caulfield). Hoping to win her over, Michael tries to overcome his nerdy ways while holding off the jealous Johnny.

The music is awesome and the costumes are bananas good. Two of the most gorgeous humans on the planet and lots of laughs. This movie is so underrated.

I will defend this unfairly maligned musical because I have seen it several times and I still love it. Guilty pleasure? No, I love the music and the messiness of it all. Plus, Michelle Pfeiffer lights up the screen with a cool, sexy, radiant performance. It is a star making performance of biblical proportions. I got a crush on her at 14 years old and now she is my favorite actress of all time, and it all started here.

The overwhelming weakness that few bring up here, is that you have a high school student body that averages about 37 years of age. It just strains credibility. This is a movie, not a play, it matters.

A boy literally eats a cigarette in this movie, which is why I gave this movie 2 stars instead of 1 just because of how hilarious the scene was. There is a full song about the "birds and the bees." I am not joking. The whole sequence was a fever dream. Frenchie is in the movie, which immediately makes this movie better. Songs are mediocre, forgettable, and pale in comparison to the soundtrack from the first movie. This movie feels like if Grease and High School Musical were mashed together, but all the parts that made those movies good were not included.

Watching this now after not viewing this since 1982 in a theatre! I am in awe of Michelle Pfeiffer! A true natural beauty that has withstood the ages. This movie (although flawed on so many levels) deserves a place proudly next to its predecessor. Great songs, fun dance numbers and a gender bending premise WAY ahead of its time!

Corny and cliche do t even begin to cover it, but there’s something endearing about Grease 2. Whether it’s the nostalgia or the great production quality of the sets and costumers, it’s not entirely bad.
