Critic Reviews for Hard to Kill
It's a highly amusing motion picture with a distinct '80's action feel, matched perfectly to Seagal's limitations as an actor and his endearing way with limb-snappings.
Brainless entertainment...and I mean that as a compliment.
One of Seagal's better actioners...entertaining
Even Seagal's "best" movie is unwatchably bad.
Audience Reviews for Hard to Kill
Yes I know!!! Steven Seagal ? what the hell am I thinking of? Well as I grew up on cheesy Martial Arts films, this happens to one of them, so when I spotted it on TV, I left it on for a nostalgic watch.
What it does show is the changes that have taken place during the time lapse to recent days in these type of films, in stunts, effects, acting and even physical builds.
What I always remembered about this film was the written quote ?The Anticipation of Death is much worse than Death itself?, but it somehow seemed to feel a little more threatening back then.
My favorite Seagal movie and the first of his that I ever saw, this movie is what made me a Seagal fan in the first place. It's a good blend of action and continuing storyline with a good plot and above-average acting. A good place to start when viewing Seagal films for the first time.More
