Paraded around by Blier in various cleavage-popping outfits (and often nothing at all), Bellucci is an amnesia-inducing, hot-blooded presence, blowing the top right off the film with her pristine, slap-yourself-in-the-face magnetism.
It is likely that most viewers will be too distracted by Bellucci's pronounced physical charms to realize just how flat and unconvincing the rest of the movie truly is.
An unfathomable film on many levels... There is no predictable emotional curve, no easy storyline for us to cling to. It's all at once confusing, bewitching and often irritating. Some may be inspired.
Wasn't overly keen on this one. Monica Bellucci plays a prostitute, and while she's attractive in a matronly type of way, she's certainly not a drop dead babe as is implied. Movie starts off pretty bland, picks up a little with the arrival of Gerard Depardieu as what I gather is her pimp/boyfriend. Then just slides
straight back into silly. This movie I think could have worked if they had played it a bit straighter instead of stupid little fantasy sequences and Monica's character seemingly unable to make up her mind about anything at all. Might be worth a watch if you are a fan of Monica, but otherwise not really recommended.
