High-tech Hong Kong sets the stage for this futuristic cops-and-robbers action film. As bank after bank is robbed by a giant robot with gangland ties, the city's bungling police feel increasingly helpless. Spurred by the success of their first robot, gang leaders create Maria, a seductive "Femme 'bot" killing machine (Sally Yeh). When Maria's programming goes haywire, she helps a cop and his friend (Tsui Hark and John Sham) rid the city of crime.
