By honing the jagged edges of Meir Zarchi's cheap and nasty rape-revenge shocker into slick entertainment, this unwelcome remake improves technically on the 1978 original, while retaining all that was sleazy and repellent...

It's intentionally, efficiently ugly, through and through.

This remake exists in that movie's shadow and, instead of attempting to outshock the original, ups the elaborate revenge aspect and gives you something to shamelessly cheer for.

Nada mais é do que uma narrativa repleta de misoginia, preconceito e estupidez.

It's not that they don't deserve punishment, but the scale here is so out-of-whack with what we're shown, with one battered, tiny girl devising and executing tortures that would have required several construction crews and a team of black ops agents.

Pretty much across the board the characters are more interesting in the remake, but that's really only because they actually are characters to some degree, as opposed to the caricatures presented in the '78 version.

Audience Reviews for I Spit On Your Grave

Revenge is a dish best served cold, but this flawed movie spends way too much time showing the protagonist's horrendous suffering and humiliation in an overlong (and graphic) setup before finally moving on to the entertaining part where we get to see her actions against her aggressors.

Well a remake, still a brutal and graphic movie indeed, not for the weak hearted!
Its actually quite an interesting movie to watch, i really quite enjoyed this movie, although its a graphic movie of rap and brutality its actually quite a good movie about revenge of a woman whose out for brutal revenge.
The revenge scenes are very graphic and inventive, quite hard to watch actually without sqearming in your seats!
The actors are okay and nice enough to watch because the acting isnt terrible and the plot although simple and easy to watch is an interesting enough concept to happily satisfy your needs for a gory thriller!
