Written by Academy Award winner Anders Thomas Jensen (for the short film VALGAFTEN), IN CHINA THEY EAT DOGS (I KINA SPISER DE HUNDE) is a black comedy gangster film that can be considered a Danish answer to films like PULP FICTION and SNATCH. Arvid is a bank clerk who becomes an inadvertent hero when he stops a robbery, only to realize that his actions have also caused unintended harm. Desperate to make good, he enlists his brother Harald, a veteran crook, to help burgle a security van. After their success, they embark on a career of charitable crimes. Unfortunately, it begins to backfire on them, leading to destruction and death. IN CHINA THEY EAT DOGS uses black humor and the gangster genre to explore questions about the relativity of morality.
