Reviews for Inspector Gadget
The new live-action feature from Disney is in its own way just as much of a cartoon as Tarzan. It's almost as much of a wonder, too.
Exceptionally pleasant, and there's just enough humor to make it enjoyable for adults.
Disney has struck once again, taking a passably entertaining cartoon and turning it into a motion picture so lifeless that it's almost unwatchable.
It has going for it a lot of expensive-looking special effects, but little in the way of wit or excitement.
Watching Inspector Gadget is like watching a human Swiss Army knife for nearly an hour and a half.
The movie feels like a demonstration reel for toys, action figures and future DisneyQuest installations.
Inspector Gadget demonstrates how a movie with little more on its mind than tickling the eyeballs of 7-year-olds can feature spiffy, jack-in-the-box special effects and still end up a dud.
Rupert Everett was on a winning streak until this movie came along.
There's nothing like watching actors fighting their way out of a movie they know is crap.
Although it’s quick, mischievous and full of visual trickery, there’s not much magic in Inspector Gadget.
