08/01/2012 Okay. Settle in. I gave this thing four stars because it absolutely has to rank as one of the most confusing, laughable "sci-fi-meets-hippie-detective-meets-topless-women-for-no-reason-whatsoever" flicks of all time. And that's exactly what it aimed for. Shot in Kentucky in the mid-70s, Lee Jones' epic what-the-f--- focuses on a detective, his hired joint-smoking hippie informant and his associate: a silent wire-haired mustache named No Name. Missing women and a voodoo (IS it voodoo? I really have no idea) wielding magician (played by Shakespearean actor Chuck Rubin) coincide in...some sort of thing where other things coincide. Worth watching for a kickass original bluegrass score, a dynamite performance from David Roster as the always-stoned Freddie Fingers, Jr. and a scene where a bonded topless woman attempts to use the phone in her room for help...by knocking it off the receiver with her naked breast. I'm not kidding. Um...sequel, please? See more Read all reviews
