Based on the MTV show of the same name, creators and coproducers Jeff Tremaine, Johnny Knoxville, and Spike Jonze stretch their surprisingly successful concept into a feature-length film. Watch cast regulars Knoxville, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Bam Margera, Dave England, Ryan Dunn, Jason "Wee Man" Acuna, Preston Lacy, Ehren McGehey, and Brandon Dicamillo as they perform a series of ridiculously dangerous and dangerously stupid stunts. Entering a rental car in a crash-up derby, snorting wasabi, eating a urine-soaked snow-cone, self-inflicting paper cuts, and using a store's display toilet are just a few of the increasingly obscene antics that unfurl at a relentless pace. A large portion of the footage finds the pranksters in Japan, dressing up in outlandish outfits and wreaking havoc on the unsuspecting locals. Whether or not this is a hysterical romp or a waste of eighty minutes is for the viewer to decide, but the fact can't be argued, JACKASS: THE MOVIE is slapstick entertainment for the 21st century, incorporating the modern world's fascination with reality television and obsession with disaster into a raucous, electrifying spectacle. Reviews for Jackass: The Movie
The movie is designed to play for one audience and one audience only: existing Jackass fans.
The Jackass boys show little interest in observing anyone else but themselves.
To call it performance art, one would first have to submit to the idea that it is art, which it clearly isn't. (Unrated)
So what's all the fuss about? If people want to staple paper to their inner thighs, let them. The question is whether you're prepared to pay to watch them do it.
Franchement, Jackass: The Movie se doit d’être vu même si l’idée de départ ne vous enchante guère.
Needs more crashes, fewer bodily fluids, and a shorter running time. while that first half is great, the thoroughly milked premise ultimately takes its toll, and the gross-out gags seem done more out of desperation
Este é apenas mais um (longo) episódio do programa da MTV. A única diferença é que, desta vez, a Paramount teve o mau gosto de exibi-lo nos cinemas.
There's no denying that it's pretty vicious humour, and pretty puerile too, but like previously successful purveyors of such past-the-U-bend comedy, its fresh-faced enthusiasm makes it invulnerable to... tired accusations.
While there is no scientific proof, chances are good your teenagers will leak brain cells by the thousands while watching Jackass. And you might even want to see it with them.
I like it. There is a freedom to watching stunts that are this crude, this fast-paced and this insane.
It has zero taste, zero intelligence, zero sophistication and zero redeeming social value. So it's a zero-star movie but as far as gutter-entertainment and gross-out humour goes, it's five-star laughs.
