He sees something move out of the corner of his eye. He feels something - something wrong. Then, right in front of his father, the boy is snatched screaming into the sky. No one can help him. The Creeper is back… Meanwhile, returning home from a championship game, a group of varsity basketball players, cheerleaders, and coaches become stranded on the infamous East 9 Highway in Poho County - only it's the cunning Creeper who has actually crippled their bus. After the adults are killed one by one, the students are left alone, trapped on the bus and forced to defend themselves against a supernatural creature who has already decided who it wants to kill - and the kids soon know who among them are targeted. As 23 horrifying days of flesh-eating come to an end, the Creeper has embarked on its final voracious feeding frenzy. As night falls, the terrified group of young athletes must fight their own fears and prejudices and come together in a seemingly hopeless struggle against a winged nightmare hellbent on stockpiling as many victims as it can on the ultimate night of its grizzly, ritual feast. United Artists, in association with Myriad Pictures, presents an American Zoetrope production of Jeepers Creepers 2. Written and directed by Victor Salva, the film stars Ray Wise and Jonathan Breck as the Creeper, in addition to a talented young cast that includes Eric Nenninger, Garikayi Mutambirwa, Nicki Aycox, Diane Delano, Billy Aaron Brown, Marieh Delfino, Thom Gossom, Jr., Lena Cardwell, Al Santos, Kasan Butcher, Tom Tarantini, Travis Schiffner, Josh Hammond, Drew Tyler Bell, Luke Edwards, and Justin Long as Darry Jenner. Produced by Tom Luse and based on characters created by Salva, Jeepers Creepers 2 was executive produced by Francis Ford Coppola, Bobby Rock, Kirk D'Amico, and Lucas Foster, with Philip Von Alvensleben as co-executive producer. The filmmakers include director of photography Don E. FauntLeRoy, production designer Peter Jamison, editor Ed Marx, and composer Bennett Salvay. [More]

Salva squanders all of his original movie's not-entirely- awfulness and bumbles into the realm of unintentional comedy.

Many unanswered questions of JC2 -- the '23' theme, why no one in Poho County, save one, can seem to find a broken-down school bus.

I think there's a reason they're a no name cast. There's not really anybody that's really very identifiable, or very good in their roles.

It's gory, repetitive, and not terribly interesting.

Few things are scarier than a sequel to a bad movie, but, in fact, Jeepers Creepers 2 is substantially better than its predecessor, even while staying strictly within the genre's well-defined boundaries.

When it stoops to sociological concerns, as it does when the boys and girls on the bus bicker over matters of race and homophobia, Jeepers Creepers 2 simply collapses into incoherence.

For the first 40 minutes or so, while the movie takes place in the daytime, we have a brilliantly filmed version of a typical horror script. Once night descends, the film descends with it.

The new JC is more consistent and efficient than the first, with classier monster effects, but less compellingly weird.

JC2 lacks the all-important character development we got in the first installment.

Jeepers Creepers 2 supplies us with a first-class creature, a fourth-rate story, and dialogue possibly created by feeding the screenplay into a pasta maker.

Like its predecessor, Jeepers Creepers is suspenseful as long as you don't have to look its Creeper in the eye.

There are a few good jolts -- and a moderate amount of spurting blood -- but things pretty much proceed exactly as you think they will.

Like Freddy vs. Jason, it's just another boogeyman movie, but being only a first sequel, its gore lore still smells fresh.

Salva is unable to sustain the concept, and the movie feels tedious rather than claustrophobic.

The performances are what one might expect. Wide, bugged-out eyes and open mouths are the standard acting choices. But worse, this movie manages to be boring.

You don't have to be a horror-movie scholar to know that nothing significant is going to happen in any movie with '2' in the title.

Larger in scope but looser in construction than the first, Jeepers Creepers 2 will satisfy undemanding genre fans but leave those in search of an intelligent guilty pleasure feeling shortchanged.
