Tom (Ashton Kutcher) and Sarah (Brittany Murphy) are two lovebirds from different worlds. He's an average guy with a fondness for beer who works a low-level job, while she's an aspiring writer from a wealthy and cultured family. The disapproval of family and friends doesn't prevent the pair from marrying, but their disastrous honeymoon in Italy, with an unwelcome appearance by Sarah's ex-boyfriend, Peter (Christian Kane), nearly succeeds in tearing them apart.

I watched this on DVD recently. It's sad to say but the highlight of the movie was the music which played at the end during the credits. This is one of those rare specialised rom'com's which has chosen to leave out all the romance and the comedy, to concentrate fully on the mean spiritedness of the story. It's just terrible to watch, and to make matters worse some of it is set in France in winter! There is absolutely no chemistry between the leads, and the plot develops like a joyless version of a lampoon's vacation. I really despaired as I sat through what seemed like endless scenes of misery, mishap and arguments. I just can't find anything positive to say. It's bleak, repetative, and a bit French, and I hated it.
