Thriller has some contrivances but also enough touches of reality to make it unsettling and disturbing. Olivia is effective as she works up to different levels of hysteria at a believable pace rather than going full bore from the beginning. Ann Sothern is a sad blowsy mess managing to engender sympathy for her character even though she does some disreputable things. James Caan is full of menace and an uncomfortable sexuality in his feature film debut, his simpleton comrades are frightening in their careless disregard for humanity. This is economically directed with a minimum of wasted scenes and a talented cast but the theme of home invasion is to real to prove much in the way of escapist entertainment.

Tense but a bit melodramatic, especially in regards to Olivia De Havilland's performance, but it's still a good film. Professionally done and very suspenseful.

A group of criminals harrass a woman traped in an elevator in her home. Features an early appearance by James Caan and has an ending that must have been pretty shocking for 1964.

Olivia de Havilland plays a wheel-chair bound woman who gets trapped in her elevator when the electricity goes out. She finds herself at the mercy of taunting hoodlums who break in and torment her. Great movie!

It's very good, but it has a very dark undertone that I didn't enjoy at all. I doubt I will see it again.

Making a mosaic of characters showing the vision of the misfits of the 60´s, the movie is filled up with tones os prejudice characters and pessimists points of view of the society at the time. For this, the movie becames a must-see piece of cinema, if not for the chacarcters, at least for the story and the hole sunspense created in the situation.
