See more Wayne K @RT88290232 3d Considering its remarkable brutality, especially for the series its part of, Licence To Kill is a very apt name. It’s the only Bond film to receive a 15 rating in the UK, it has some of the bloodiest deaths in the franchise, as well as the darkest tone. It’s a perfect setting for Timothy Dalton’s take on the character, so much so that when they try to slip in a Bond quip here and there they land so flat I’m shocked they’re not accompanied by a wah wah sound effect. Things are often made far too easy for Bond this time round, but the villain is memorable and more hands on this time, the action scenes are brilliantly directed, so much so that the lack of them is a crying shame, and the personal vendetta angle very much works in its favour. It’s a more ruthless Bond film, one steeped in blood and revenge, and while it’s often considered a footnote in the series given Dalton’s short tenure, it’s still a film I very much recommend, whether you’re a fan of 007 or not. Everyone says that this film is better than The Living Daylights due to its tone, but I would rank TLD and LTK at the same spot. Sanchez is a better villain than the previous ones. The plot of Bond getting revenge for his friend actually suites Bond like the novels. It's a shame that Dalton had only 2 movies. La vendetta privata è emotivamente potente nella fase iniziale, salvo poi essere totalmente dimenticata con il passare dei minuti; diventando di fatto un contorno poco importante per invece un solito film di azione con un villain tanto spietato quanto poco lucido. Alla fine dei conti, il film probabilmente denota una carenza di idee che lascia in dote lo stop più lungo tra un film e l'altro per l'intera saga. As much as Dalton is decent, he simply doesn't have the panache or suave that a Bond needs. Still a pretty good movie but he was hard to believe as Bond- it just is what it is. See more Alec B @Alec97 Feb 9 It's an interesting setup for a Bond movie, one that promises something different but only partially delivers (it's cool to see so much of Q but the gadgets do seem out of place here).
