After a powerful storm damages their Maine home, David Drayton (Thomas Jane) and his young son head into town to gather food and supplies. Soon afterward, a thick fog rolls in and engulfs the town, trapping the Draytons and others in the grocery store. Terror mounts as deadly creatures reveal themselves outside, but that may be nothing compared to the threat within, where a zealot (Marcia Gay Harden) calls for a sacrifice.

The Mist is a pretty middle of the road film but still manages to tell an interesting and tragic story, not every film has to be some deep introspection or a cinematic thrill ride.

Good grief, what a pathetic movie!! Absolutely AWFUL. I do not recommend this to anyone, especially if you’re a parent. You will not enjoy it and it will not be worth your time, even if there’s a bunch of the cast from The Walking Dead. I’ve never even rated a movie before, but it was so bad that I created an account just to rate it and warn people, so let that mean something that I’m going through that effort just for that :)

Stilted performances in a movie where all delivery comes off as a bad play. You can almost see the actors anticipating the hand held camera coming their way. Cheap FX. Not at all scary. I can accept the scifi premise but the glassed supermarket hold out is just all a bit silly. If the whole movie was as shocking as the ending I would have bought in.

Great movie, I liked the ending it shows. Overall an incredible movie has been made. At the beginning of the movie the gunslinger is shown which is a reference to the dark tower again by Stephen King.
