Movie Info

Though eyewitnesses recount Pat Fisher hysterically dodging cars on a busy highway, Detective Inspector Tom Monroe suspects there's more to the case than the accidental death of a mentally disturbed man. Digging into Fisher's past -- all the way back to 1976 -- Monroe uncovers a string of dead classmates. Adding to the mystery is the dead man's obsession with a 10-year-old girl's murder and ominous warnings from beyond the grave.more

Audience Reviews for Monroe: Class of '76

A decent mystery in the Carr tradition of suggesting the weird and supernatural but giving an entirely natural solution. The performances by Robert Carlyle and Daniel Mays are both excellent, with some very fine work by many of the supporting cast as well. Part One has great atmosphere and builds tension steadily from the outset. Part Two is weaker in its development and atmosphere but contains most of the action. The conclusion is weak, rather trite, and leaves too many questions unanswered but it isnt so bad that it leaves you feeling like you wasted your time. Less than classic but well worth watching.
