Movie Info
The Last House on the Left was a morally bankrupt but highly profitable film about rape, murder, and revenge. The 1978 sequel, The New House on the Left, may even be more reprehensible than the original. Whereas the murder site of the first film was a remote house, the scene of the crime in the sequel is a train (thereby negating the title). This film includes more rapes, more murders, and more revenge than the original --and, undoubtedly, more cash lining the pockets of the producers. ~ Hal

Pedestrian. Director Aldo Lado never ventures far down the more surreal or dreamlike paths favoured by his better-known compatriots in the genre arts.
Build up is deliberate, and we get to know our players thoroughly but not exhaustively. Score by the brilliant Ennio Morricone and cinematography by Gabor Pogany come together to entwine beauty with Lado's propensity for brutality.
The extras are skimpy, but the gorgeous transfer should please fans of this cult oddity.
reworks familiar material with enough gusto and thematic interest to make it worth revisiting
One of the many films the DPP banned on account of being afraid that it would bore impressionable children to death.
Audience Reviews for L'Ultimo treno della notte (Night Train Murders)(Xmas Massacre)(Don't Ride on Late Night Trains)
Super Reviewer
Lifted from the Last House On The Left mold, free-spirited young girls on a train fall victim to a couple of thugs on a train, who fall in with a strange, sadistic woman to torment and molest them.
It's watchable, but this genre isn't a big concern for me, unless you're going to really go over the top and show me something really disturbing or salacious, but it was an okay way to kill 90 minutes.
