Out of the Blue captures the turbulence of youth culture of the early '80s by presenting a three-person nuclear family that is about to implode. Hopper is a polarizing personality, a fine actor and an undervalued director. "Out of the Blue" is a prize for the sensitive audience, unabashed in its edgy, expressionistic atmosphere of universal melancholy. Straight from the heart.
