See more Jacob B @RT89309114 06/14/2025 Even when all his dialogue is in a foreign language, Clancy Brown still ends up slipping into the Mr. Krabs voice. And it gets even more hilarious when the character screams and it's virtually impossible to think of anyone but Mr. Krabs. That's the best part of the film: Clancy Brown hamming it up. Shame that Pathfinder doesn't have much else going for it beyond that and some decent gory action. Most of the characters are forgettable, the story's practically non-existent, the nature versus nurture debate is barely explored, the Vikings can come off as cartoonishly evil and I'm not the biggest fan of the visual style here. Maybe it had its place in this director's horror remakes but here it just looks depressing and makes it hard to admire how some of the scenery actually looks quite nice. At least I can see the carnage here unlike Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem from the same calendar year. And speaking of Predator, I recommend you go watch Prey instead for an action-focused period piece dealing with Native Americans. Not because this film uses the Mighty Whitey trope while that film doesn't but because, while Pathfinder certainly has its moments, it's overall a forgettable film with a much weaker story and not as nice to look at. But at least we got "Mr. Krabs pretending to be a foreigner" out of this film so that's nice. See more DUSTIN G @RT61771003 10/13/2024 I love my gore. But the story just doesn't bring me into it. No sympathetic character? I guess the rumours that critics in this site are failed film makers is right. The main character was lost and confused, that makes him easy to feel empathy for. The plot was his journey to defending his family and becoming one of the tribe. Maybe you critics should study story structure before you write.
