Long ago, boxer Arturo Ortega (Jimmy Smits) could have been a contender but was cheated by a duplicitous manager. So Arturo channeled his ambition into training his sons: Sonny (Jon Seda), Jimmy (Clifton Collins Jr.) and Johnny (Ernesto Hernandez). Determined to do right by them, Arturo oversees every aspect of their careers. But, after he hastily rejects an offer from a major fight promoter (Ron Perlman), Arturo's sons begin to question his leadership and struggle against their family ties.

I wasn't sure about this movie at first. It seem like it was nothing more than a father pushing his sons at the expense of their childhood. But as the movie progresses and the story unfolds it becomes quite interesting. The acting by the principle actors is good.

Synopsis
