Frank Castle, aka The Punisher (Ray Stevenson), turns the streets of New York City red as he wages a one-man war against the crime syndicate responsible for the death of his wife and two kids. Aided by his trusted sidekick, Microchip (Wayne Knight), he almost kills Billy Russoti (Dominic West) and leaves him horribly disfigured. Billy renames himself Jigsaw and with the help of his crazed brother Loony Bin Jim, recruits criminals from every corner of the city to do battle with Frank.

I really wanted to like Punisher: War Zone, but it just didn’t land for me. The tone feels all over the place—it tries to be gritty and over-the-top at the same time, but ends up feeling more cartoonish than intense. Ray Stevenson does his best as Frank Castle, but the writing doesn’t give him much depth to work with. The violence is excessive without much purpose, and instead of adding impact, it becomes repetitive and numbing. The villains feel exaggerated to the point of being hard to take seriously, which really hurt the overall experience. There are a few moments that had potential, but they’re buried under awkward pacing and a lack of emotional weight. Overall, I’d give it a 3/10—it just didn’t deliver the Punisher story I was hoping for.

Le mejor película de Punisher, lo tiene todo: sangre, acción y buenas actuaciones, en especial Ray Stevenson (RIP), además tiene a varios personajes de los comics y es la más fiel a ellos, no se porque tiene tan malas criticas (29%), deberías subir la puntuación tanto de critica cómo de audiencias.

This is definitely a 65% film. Great action, all thriller, no filler! Great Punisher, great supporting actors. I can't say if it's accurate compared to the comics but it's a great action revenge film. Bad ass killings, wow! Reminds me bit of Dredd. Enjoy!
