Henry D @Henry_Domke Jun 15 We were smiling or laughing through the whole film. At one point Lorna said, "It’s transporting," and that was exactly right. The movie carried us into another time and place with warmth, humor, and affection. And then, on top of that, the period music was perfect. Song after song fit the scene so naturally that the music felt inseparable from the memories. But, as is typical of Woody's work, it's almost plot-less. Just a collage of colourful memories and observations of life. So if you're someone who loves a meaningful plot you might be as bored as me with this one.
