John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) is doing hard time in jail when his former boss, Col. Trautman (Richard Crenna), offers him a deal. If Rambo travels to Vietnam to try to find the American prisoners of war, his criminal record will be expunged. Rambo takes the reconnaissance assignment and agrees not to get involved in any of the action. However, when his Vietnamese lover, Co Bao (Julia Nickson), is killed by American forces, Rambo forgets his promise and takes matters into his own hands.

I loved that this movie wasn't just loud explosions. The smart survival tactics in the woods and the strong, emotional story made it a truly great experience.

Rambo is given a chance to get pardoned from the first movie by rescuing a POW in Vietnam but is left for dead. This is a good continuation but the arrow effects can be hard to watch and scenes are shot with humidity on the camera lens.

This movie was bigger, louder and more action packed than the first part. The rescue missions and combat scenes kept the energy high throughout the film. Sylvester Stallone looked confident in the role and carried the movie well during the intense moments. Overall, it was an entertaining classic for fans of old school action movies.
