The film is obviously low-budget but has a smart script and a real feeling for those who would like to turn back the clock. Its modesty on the whole becomes it, and Plaza is a real find. Go to Full Review

Every emotion you could possibly think of plays out on Plaza’s face as she recounts the horrifying story. You want to look away, because it's just such a vulnerable moment. But she is so magnetic, you have to see where she takes the scene next... Go to Full Review

Anthony J @jenkinsdraws 6h Suspend belief, this is a charming, quirky, interesting character-driven film. Much nonsense, but sense isn't the point. It is humanity. See more Rob A @RT76386004 18h Had its moments but the ending was lazy/silly and there were several plotlines either abandoned or self-contradictory. Aubrey Plaza was cute and deadpan as always, and the film didn't bore me, but it could have been so much better. The premise was good, but the writing was very uneven in my opinion. See more Par H @Parhwy Mar 6 Safety Not Guaranteed is an 86-minute-long film from 2012 which I watched on Prime in March 2026. This film is easy to watch. That said it contains a couple of moral choices in the story (lying/manipulation, and underage drinking then sex with adults [well, I think that is what may have, could have, happened: three people who can’t drive nor drink are given beer by adults which leads to foreplay and the assumption of off-screen sex… hey, maybe they were 19]). Jake’s character is a sleazebag with an all-too-hidden-not-hidden flaw which partly mirrors Kenneth’s however he’s just weird, awkward. The laughs are chuckles and hahas. The preamble that Darius is lonely and listless was set early on however her falling in love is spurious, yet I enjoyed it, in fact I cheered at the end (I am a push-over for a sci-fi rom-com). Rewatch? No, the punchlines are spent, the story limited and Jake not enjoyable. Recommend? Yes (no guarantees). See more Edmond H @Firedude144 Feb 28 Too many abandoned plotlines. What's the point of goingback in time to fix his girlfriend problem then finding out she's not dead? The FBI agents act like Laurel and Hardy...where did they go at the end, just when it started getting interesting. Nice acting but poor plot development. Left unsatisfied. See more Noel L @RT15930389 Nov 29 This movie keeps you guessing the entire time. What a new spin on a rom com with an ending that makes you wonder if it is a happy ending See more HippieX @hippiex Nov 17 I liked this film quite a bit. It’s quirky and keeps you guessing up until the end. The entire cast is very entertaining and does a good job with a cool concept. See more Read all reviews
