Stephen Dorff is so so cool in this. I have it on v.h.s but if you get chance to see it i suggest it. Great soundtrack too with an original storyline something that is very rare these days

This movie was a complete mess! Badly filmed, corny storyline, and like watching a train wreck. The only plus was Stephen Dorff was hot as hell back in 1994 so it made the movie barely watchable. Avoid!

9-4-07 --I watched this movie and I thought SFW I watched this movie, I may have wasted my time but SFW!! It's lacking on the development part. It's like the director was like "hey lets make a movie about people that get too involved with everyone they see on tv and they make em out to be idols. Yeah! lets make a movie about that" But that's it... That's the whole movie. I feel like I wasted my time. Best part is seeing Tobey Maguire playing the part of a stoned kid. Hilarious!

Worth watching just to see what happens when you have two up and coming young actors who go different paths. Witherspoon became a superstar. Dorff became a dud.

Witherspoon showcased in an interesting role. Stephen Dorff gives a good performance. The movie it?s self is worth seeing but not the greatest. Exciting and inspiring to someone like me. This movie had a definite impact on my youth. Not really a positive one though. I still think seeing this flick as a teen helped shape who I am today, for better or worse. When it really hits the fan just say S.F.W.!

Maybe not the best-made film ever, but this film resonates with me. So fuckin' what? Nothing matters...

It's a pity barely anyone's even heard of this movie. There's quite alot of language, but take that out, and it's a good true-to life story. ..Aside from all the fiction, of course.

not worth the electricity it cost for the "free" on demand rental...

One of those movies that you watch because it's advertised on on-demand for free. So painstakingly horrid- it's amazing.

If Oliver Stone had directed Reality Bites.

It's been a while since I watched this one. Actually, I haven't seen it since it first aired on tv. Back then I thought it was terrible, and since I usually don't watch movies again (not unless they're really, really good at least), I am probably not going to revisit this one.

"So F**king What!!". I would have enjoyed this movie much more if I had actually seen it in '95. Honestly, it really wasn't the plot or the performances (even though Stephen Dorff is pretty charasmatic throughout the film) that kept me watching this one. No, it was the nineties, grunged-out nostalgia that it evoked. With all the long hair, tattered jeans, plaid flannel shirts, and melancholy attitudes, I thought I was back in high school. The Soundgarden dominated soundtrack didn't hurt anything either. Reece Witherspoon was so young and sexy in 1995 too, man. I'm not so sure she showed signs of Hollywood stardom in her performance, but she certainly carried her weight and was absolutely dazzling to look at. Joey Lauren Adams and Jake Busey arguably turned in the worst performances of their careers...awful...really AWFUL. All things considered, S.F.W. made a pretty strong attempt to capture the essence of the nineties' Gen. X atmosphere and the rise of reality television, but fell pretty flat because of a loose plot and half-ass performances. If you grew up during the whole grunge era, you will find yourself chuckling quite a bit for memory's sake. If not, you may just turn this one off and say, "So F**king What."

I thought this movie was pretty cool.... probably helped by a distracting Stephen Dorff in his prime!

Wow what a great Idea, but what a Shit movie. The acting was terrible, especially from Dorff who should really look up overacting in the dictionary. And as for the whole movie whoever this director is he should be shot for treating his audience like an idiot. In a real world if this guy did get worshipped well in todays media we would all forget about it in a couple of weeks, but not this guy no the world loves him. And as for the ending did they just run out of ideas? And honestly if you go to a high school they will not stand up and cheer at you for minutes on end come on! Teenagers hate heroes. Nah sorry bad, bad movie.
