The movie presents simple characters that are either good or bad. Also, it presents a protagonist that the viewer would cheer for in his quest for freedom and an antagonist that the viewer would condemn for his immoral and hypocritical behavior. Finally, it definitely reached high ratings due to its accessibility in cable TV and it managed to provide entertainment to viewers in despair. What makes this movie so special is the way it slowly builds its story. Andy Dufresne's quiet strength, patience, and determination were incredible to watch. Even in the darkest moments, he never lost hope, and that's a message that really stayed with me. The friendship between Andy and Red was also beautifully written, showing the importance of loyalty and human connection. The performances were outstanding, especially from Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman, whose narration added so much depth and emotion to the film. By the time the story reached its conclusion, every moment felt earned, making the ending one of the most satisfying and emotional in movie history.
