It hasn’t aged a day, and remains a confronting relationship essay with a strong emphasis on the foundations of most of these, especially on the sexual level, whether we openly acknowledge this willingly or not. Without being tame and ‘prim & proper’ the film in a light-hearted fashion explores some very deep and in some cases disturbing attributes of relationships. Perhaps not for your maiden aunt Mary (or maybe she’d benefit from seeing it?), but certainly not gratuitous sex. Challenging for the actors, but a worthy cinematic experience for the filmgoer.
