Nicholas P Oct 4 I got the Vinegar Syndrome remaster of this movie so it looks a lot better than the Troma DVD release but it is like putting a hat on a pig. I can get why this is in the top 5 worst Troma movies. It fails on every technical level. The story is a meandering affair. It takes 44 minutes before *anything* happens. The effects are, laughable and that's being charitable. This movie is a movie that is so bad that the ineptitude is what makes it an interesting watch. The acting was low-grade; the scripting and cinematography were done by clueless amateurs; drugged chimpanzees must've made the music, which also prepared the audience for nothing! This is a great example of how you don't make a movie. I loved it and will watch again! See more 08/26/2016 This film is dark. Not in tone, but literally dark. Good luck figuring out what is happening on camera. Fatally genre-blind and equally stupid characters somehow get the South to rise from the grave again. Being a Troma movie, you know what your in for as soon as the title-card hits: so bad it's good. Thankfully for us, all of Troma's back catalogue is free to be watched on their YouTube channel. Men filmen har en slags hemmagjord charm som funkade på mig i alla fall - och kom igen, regissören var bara en tjugoåring som sket i filmskolan, lånade ihop några tusen dollar av släktingar, spelade in en egen liten skräckfilm och fick den såld. Let's get too it. +'s: Well...um..it has an interesting story, and...okay it was bad all bad. I can't lie I'm sorry. I had trouble finishing this one. Not too mention when the zombies, yes confederate zombies (or the Dixie Undead if you prefer) eat their victims, it takes forever and I mean forever for the scene go on. I'm still scarred from the seven minute chewing noises (open mouth, sloppy chewing). My god I had to mute. Stay away from this one unless your a Troma fan like myself, but when you pick it up...well I hope you have drugs or something to pass the time while you watch. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. See more 03/28/2009 Actually can I review this movie after watching the Troma dvd?? NO! I've never seen such a bad quality dvd. Troma if you were to release such a piece of shit (film hasnt been remastered, clean up, restored,etc) well then you prolly shouldnt have release it! Most of the movie take place during night time which mean real dark picture throught most of it! From what I could see, this is an interesting low budget movie in the like of Zombie Lake, Toxic Zombies, etc... The plot is about a group of campers running into an old fortress and finding a confederate book, steal it and what do you know, dead confederate soldiers coming back to life. The acting is somewhat ok and the gore is rather good!
