BUT, there are tons of rad interviews and stories that make it worth watching for any K kid. See more 08/23/2008 Heather Rose Dominic's documentary of Calvin Johnson and K Records in Olympia, Washington is not a slick production. Then again, the scene she documents is neither slick nor intended for prime time. I found myself fondly recalling my own time at Evergreen State in the late 80s and early 90s. I remember working in a coop warehouse during the summer before school started and hearing about the Calvinists and the music scene from the Beat Happening bass player. These were a group of people who were practicing DIY before the term had been invented, taking punk in new directions and creating intimate, personal performances that are memorable.
