Ryoo Seung-wan pulls out the agents and crosses them in The Berlin File.Running nearly 2 hours, there is more than enough to follow when it comes to the story. While the pacing of the film isn't necessarily fast, plot details come and go often enough to easily throw things into a bin of shredded paper. In short, the story requires attention to grasp, especially in the first half. Fortunately, things become clearer by the film's final act.The action is nicely done with the highlight happening at the end. It is a good mixture of realism and stylization.Jung-woo Ha, Suk-kyu Han, and Ryoo Seung-Bum share the screen as the three major leads. Gianna Jun, as eye catching as she is, ends up overshadowed by the other three. The Berlin File agreeably fits into the action crime thriller genre and is therefore a recommendable Korean picture.

Ryoo Seung-Wan delvers once again with insane fight scenes and full contact/non wire choreography, only to be hindered by a hard to follow excess of characters whose names sound alike.

A nice thriller deftly handled especially twist and turns. Found the movie slightly slow but nice movie to watch.

I liked this film. It was fun and had a lot of fun action. It involved use of guns which is rare in Korean films and had a very tight and neurotic storyline involving betrayal and mistrust all across the board.

This is one of best Korean films I have ever seen. Be prepared to invest sufficient attention into an arduous story of North- and South-Korean secret service affairs. Mostly North-Korean, because they are the main characters of the story. The action is top notch mainly on the lines of Bourne series & some really good performances. Must Watch for spy genre enthusiastics!!

Exciting action and North Korean spy stories. Too bad the love story at the end didn't prevail.

Gritty, gripping, twists and turns, terrific performances. This is an action movie with a brain. Forget Die Hard, go for this film. Ha Jung Woo, who was so good in The Yellow Sea is once again quite wonderful as is Ryoo Seung-bum also gives a bravura performance. The script is smart, direction tight. Berlin hasn't looked so dirty, dangerous and fraught with spies in quite some time.
