Brad is worth the ticket price alone and others turned in creditable performances, particularly Eric Bana as an upright family man who just happens to be the prince of a warlike city-state, and Sean Bean as Odysseus the Ironic.

In terms of historical accuracy, Troy is probably on par with Van Helsing. But for balancing intimate stories with spectacular battles in an old-school-sized epic, it's closer to Gladiator.

... it’s hard to take the cataclysmic events of this ancient war seriously, as it is entirely predicated on an unconvincing romantic gesture of a prince with the impulse control of a spoiled brat and the political consideration of a cat in heat.

Great cast. Brad Pitt did a good job. Diane Kruger did great as Helen of Troy. No woke ideology bull crap. Good movie, enough to receive 5 stars.

Loved this action movie. Casting was excellent and the sets seem to be very accurate of the time. I was never bored watching this movie and appreciated the attention to detail.

Lo más ridículo de esta versión "agringada" de lo que la gente imagina que es la Iliada (porque no es este bodrio) es que los helénicos justo tienen los criterios y la moral mojigata de los gringos del siglo XX. Eso sin contar algunas pésimas actuaciones (o si acaso exageradas) y la grotesca edición del cuerpo de Brad Pitt con efectos de computadora. Sin embargo, no creo que sea tan mediocre como lo que Nolan está por presentar con la porquería que presentará de La Odisea.

Way, way better than these percentages would have you believe. Incredible movie making and incredible entertainment. Can't believe RT giving it 53% which is NUTS. What were they looking for, a documentary??? It's well done; it's well acted; and in 2026 it holds up since it was made in 2004. Well worth the watch.

Greetings from Lithuania. "Troy" (2004) is a very well made movie. While it's not historically accurate, I always enjoyed this movie as pure popcorn entertainment. Re-watching it recently i rediscovered just how great this movie is in terms of visuals, pacing and storytelling. At running time 2 h 35 min (Theatrical version) and 3 h 05 min Director's Cut (which is a must see) this movie never drags and is a terrific entertainment from start till finish. Wonderful cast of great actors did a terrific job - they all are great in this one (just except for maybe Orlando). I always liked that there is no clear hero / villain in this one and you can root for both sides: Brad Pitt and Eric Bana were truly superb in their respective roles and especially Bana who is the star of this movie I think in terms of human hero. Set design was amazing and its feel of place and time is superbly made. The only flaw I think was a third act that it felt a bit draggy, but still there is a lot be loved there.
