Movie Info

The modern malaise of life in contemporary Hong Kong finds eight twentysomethings on the cusp of adulthood seeking solace by sharing an upscale apartment in a hilariously truthful comedy drama directed by Wong Chen Chen and starring singing sensations Candy Lo and William So. Being a disenchanted Hong Kong yuppie isn't easy these days, and as these single friends opt to spend a quiet night inside playing a harmless game of Truth or Dare, their dejected philosophies are brought to life on the screen in a way that is both subtly moving and disarmingly genuine. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovimore

I was a bit disappointed when they didn't eat Susie's shit. Very funny film about young people playing Truth or Dare.

Truth or Dare: 6th Floor Rear Flat (2003) - "If you like both of them, that means you don't like either of them" - Leo.

A cute movie about a group of six Chinese young adults who share a one room apartment while they try to break free of their parents and make their own way into the world. The roommates, all wonderful, play awesome games of truth or dare. One night, a friend, jealous of their freedom and their wealthy families, dares them to do something significant with their lives in the next year or they have to eat shit - the landlady's shit, who is all too willing to oblige!

What follows is the standard "dreams meet reality" plot, but it's told in a script that's disarmingly loose, resilient, and laugh-out-loud funny. The acting was believable. The music was good: The theme song by Roman Tam is really good and set the mood for the film (I can't find it in iTunes or Limewire - dammit!). Overall, a fun movie to watch.
